So this is a project I’ve been working on a better part of 6 months. It’s been a challenge. Trying to get a shave quality soap but in a pump you can keep in the shower. Not going to lie. This was the idea of my better half. She wanted something she could shave with , with or without a brush. So I decided to make a super soft soap at first. It works. Kind of. The pumps we wanted to use just would have trouble pumping them. We had some success, but lots of failures. Then we tried a pure cream. No lye. All surfactants. This worked great, but no protection like from a soap. No great post shave feel. Then I had to idea to combine them. Use a cream to soften a soap and make it pump. Sounded easy in theory. Well...

Adopted Acres Soap Co. grew out of Doug’s deep dive into wet shaving after sharpening a straight razor, which led him from trying artisan soaps and shaving twice a day to dreaming of creating his own high-quality shave soap. That vision became even more meaningful through the use of beef tallow sourced from Cara’s family’s Ohio beef farm, where her father, brother-in-law, and sister all play a role in the family cattle and beef sales operation. Inspired both by a passion for quality products and a desire to create meaningful jobs for their adult children, Doug and Cara launched Adopted Acres Soap Co. with the support of the wet shave community. They offer shave soaps, matching splashes, holiday limited editions, and is also experimenting with women’s shave soap and room sprays, with special birthday-themed scents inspired by their children.
