Hi Friends,
I would like to introduce one of my absolute favorite razors out there. The Maxwell June.
Here a little information about this artisan:
Maxwell June was founded in 2019 by twin brothers Rob and Rich Glenn in Chicago & Rockford, Illinois. Rob, an industrial designer and engineer, spent more than a thousand hours first developing the Twin Blade Razor that delivers the sharp efficiency of a double-edge blade with the ease of a cartridge. Rich, an expert machinist, brought the precision, production know-how, and workshop mastery to turn those prototypes into reality.
This razor has definetly become of my most loved razors. It is well made (even here and there are some construction marks) but this is what makes the razor unique. A razor, which for me is a great mix of the aggressive Henson (due to it´s given angle) and the RazoRock Lupo .95.
Why will you ask? I will tell you. I bought it with the „EX“-cap, so there is a regular cap as well you could choose. The baseplate is identical you can just change to top cap to get more or less blade feel.
Here with the „EX“-plate you have quite a bit of blade feel, but not tons of it. I don ´t know the regular plate, but this one is perfect for me.
The razor shaves SO smooth and gentle and is VERY efficient at the same time. It is so much fun to shave with this little fella because it is so maneuverable, feels rock solid and has a sound to it which feels like „ceramic“. Hard to describe and maybe it sounds a little weird but that is the best way i can describe it.
At a price point of 89$ i can only highly recommend this razor. Stainless steel, great weight (106g) and the shaves this razor will give you, makes this one special.
