Lucky me and both cost me my organs, glad to have both heads and the original Weber handle. Both Weber razors, aren’t for sale, until I REST IN BLOODY PEACE, in other words TOUGH BLOODY TITTIES!

I would still love a polished head Weber but even if I could find one, I probably couldn’t afford it! The most iconic stainless steel razor ever, in my opinion. I can remember when they launched and I’m still kicking myself for not buying one back then. Eejit!

I’m a gluttonous heathen of razor variety in my shaves. Today though, I wanted a super smooth and ultimate glide shave and the Diamondback does this with nearly perfect execution. An incredibly comfortable shaver for a near mindless shave exercise.

I have slo Super Razors costing hundred of dollars, I use most Gillette DE Vintages, 1933- 1962, only modern is a Goodfellas’ Smile Bayonetta DE Safety Razor.
All deliver DFS, close to BBS because I OWN TECHNIQUE.
I am like the hunter of 1700's who only has a One Shot flintlock, h]always have meat for table because I am a HUNTER, not some unskilled town folk with Flintlock.

I call it the THE NO BULL TRUTH.
You dont need a Wolfman to get a Good SHAVE, you need Skill, or Technique, Razor, Blade, Soap, or Cream, and LAST TECHNIQUE.
Agreed! You don’t need any high end razor but they are really nice to have
Tools are just tools, knew a guy who was wood carver, successful because his ART SOLD. Dirty little secret was lot of his work was done with different piece of broken Glass, and heavy leather gloves.
I agree with you — technique is the biggest factor, and nobody needs an expensive razor to get a great shave. A basic, well-designed razor with the right blade can do an excellent job in skilled hands.
That said, I think the “hobby” side is where things get a little crazy for many of us. Once the technique is there, we start chasing different designs, materials, finishes, blade feel, balance and efficiency simply because we enjoy the experience of trying them. For many of us, the rabbit hole has no bottom — at least until the bank balance or significant other finally slams on the brakes.
So no, a Wolfman isn’t necessary for a good shave — but for a hobbyist, “necessary” and “fun to own and use” are two very different things.

To be able to use any type of blade holder or honed type was an important part of what gained my interest beyond simply collecting. For me, the 1930’s were an important decade for holder development. The ‘50’s were improved designs for safety. I’ve come to appreciate the longer handles that came in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s.

Don't know if I have a favorite razor. I think once you've mastered the technique of shaving whether it be with a cartridge, DE, or a straight razor for that matter, it doesn't really matter what you shave with. But razors that I really like in my collection are the Mongoose, the spirit, x1, prowe, and the vector. There are others but these are just a few.

The Rex Konsul is by far and away the best razor in my den. I get fantastic shaves from it every time I use it.
