Are there any hunters among us?

Hi all,
        One of my past times when I’m not working is Fox and Feral animal hunting I have several properties that I shoot on in Western Australia.
This might shock some of you outside of Australia or non hunters. I also cull kangaroos from time to time if the property owner requests it as they are legally allowed to cull kangaroos on their properties mainly cattle farmers.
The calibre I use for foxes , feral cats and wild dogs is 223 rem.
For larger game like kangaroos and feral  pigs I use 243 win.
My favoured projectiles are hornady vmax.
Please share your stories if you have a similar hobby.

Not “hunting” age slowly stops that but still Sport Shoot, had lever action .308 but sold (to hard on paper ) Ruger .223 rifle, CZ 9mm and Ruger .357 revolver for Silhouette shooting, so just “metal” animals now

Όχι η ηλικία «κυνηγιού» το σταματάει σιγά σιγά, αλλά παρόλα αυτά το Sport Shoot, είχε μοχλό δράσης .308, αλλά πουλούσε (πολύ σκληρά στα χαρτιά ) τουφέκι Ruger .223, CZ 9mm και περίστροφο Ruger .357 για σκοποβολή Silhouette, οπότε τώρα είναι απλώς «μεταλλικά» ζώα.

Πηγαίνω και στο σκοπευτήριο.
Αλλά προσθέτω και skeet και λίγο sporting

Many years ago I was into Varmint Hunting, we use to hunt mostly at Night, calling in Coyote’s then lighting them up with WW-II Aircraft Landing Light that made the night, daylong.

Land we hunted were private property, and most of the property owners had zero problems letting us hunt their land, helping them do Pest removal.

Weapon of choice was a 22.250 Caliber Bolt Action Rifle3, with 3-12 Variable Scope that pretty much turn a live Dog into tiny pieces of hair balls with the load we were shooting.

Did little Bird Hunting also, but today I put feed out for my fathered friends. Quail, Doves, Sparrows, Cactus Ren's, and an other feather friend who show in the am, and pm in my backyard yard for a free buffet.

Εδώ στην Ελλάδα, το μόνο μεγάλο θήραμα που επιτρέπεται είναι ο αγριόχοιρος, τον οποίο κυνηγάμε με λειόκαννα όπλα διαμετρήματος 12, αφού τα τουφέκια απαγορεύονται.

I was also a hunter since I was a little kid when my grandfather took me with him, something else he taught me and I love him very much even though he is gone.
I mainly hunt woodcocks and partridges with pointers and setters.

I to have droped the larger calibre firearms as well.
I find the my .243 can take out anything I aim at.
My 223 is my goto in most times as for hand guns I don't have any
I am also a club member but only site in and test loads .

I'd love to hunt Coyotes but sadly not in Australia foxs and wild dogs are what we have,
I use to have a 22-250 it was a great rifle the velocity of the round is of the chart unfortuntely I burned out the barrel (common with such a fast round)
I to manly feed the birds not shoot them aswell.
Except for parrots in the local Orchards from time to time with a 22LR.

Used to. Mostly medium and small game. 7mm Rem Mag, 270 short mag, 260 rem. 22 hornet, 223, 22 mag and 22lr. Defaulted to target shooting at the local range. 45 acp, 380 acp, 357 coonan and an AR platform. I miss it sometimes.
