Blackland Sabre V2

Hello fellow wet shavers,
Kicking off the Single Edge category with my favorite GEM razor, the Blackland Sabre V2 in titanium—the only adjustable GEM SE razor, to my knowledge, at the moment. Thanks to its interchangeable safety bars, it can range from silky smooth to very efficient, depending on the setup.

Would love one of those razors

Too bad that for now it's completely gone from Blackland's website...

The only Gem blade razor I have used is a Gem junior.
blackland Sabre V2 Ti is a very classes razor.

Personally, I've not used any of the vintage Gem's only the Sabre and the Shield.

The Sabre v2 is fantastic. I do find that on plate 3, it can tug a little as there a minute gap between the edge of the baseplate and the removable guard; a bristle can get trapped, creating a quick tug that may feel a little like you've nicked yourself. Plate 2 and 1 though - fabulous. I haven't tried plate 4 yet.

A gorgeous razor  Someday it will be mine (hopefully) :ROFLMAO: Can you compare the shaves with a vintage razor or is this thing MUCH smoother?

Superb shave. This razor is in a class of its own. I regret not getting one in polished Ti. That would have been the ultimate GEM razor for me. I have tried a few vintage GEM razors and all have worked quite well however, the versatility, quality & craftsmanship from Blackland on this Sabre is impeccable. For me it’s the best GEM on the planet bar none.

A great shave by this well crafted kit. I do regret never pulling the trigger on the Ti version when it was available back then to be quite honest. And there is no certainty that it will come into production in the near or far future. Maybe perhaps as a Batch Special it could be brought in for a limited release however, I don’t know if that would be feasible for Blackland as this razor is project intensive with all the extra work & machining required to make it worthwhile. Meanwhile, the SS version is more than capable for holding the banner as the best & most versatile modern GEM razor in my possession.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully the shave gods put an itch to Shane’s creative nature & the think tank crew at Blackland Razors.

They did...
Batch 004:

120 piece run sold out in 42 minutes.
Sent a message about the GEM solding out in 42 minutes to Shane and(or) his media crew: "Hi Shane, getting a quality product is a no-brainer for most! Maybe a Sabre V3 needs to be planned for the future! 😀" haven't got a reply yet...

Yes, I did see that Batch #4. Was not in the hunt for it. I’m just interested in a Ti version of the V2 Sabre and not in a different variation of a GEM razor which Batch #4 was inspired by. I do hope for those that ordered one it’s an excellent razor and a definite collectors item for sure.
