Friends, Brothers and Gentlemen of Shavechat, it is time to kick off our first bit of activity on the. I'm leading the first one and from April onward will pass the baton on to another member. the concept can be entirely his but totally have related.

We all love flaunting our rare ad expensive shaving gear be it hardware or software, so i thought it would be great to get back to basics or rather to the simple functional stuff we once used and still possess, presenting FRUGAL FEBRUARY. I have set the rules or requirements of the activity to be as easy as possible. All who are in, please add your name to the list. Everyone is welcome to upload their Frugal February SOTD even if hey haven't joined the list. So here are the simple rules -

1. You need to upload an SOTD pic, it could be everyday or even every other day. I shave every two days so I can perfectly understand if shavers like me don't post one everyday.

2. One of the items used in your SOTD has to be the cheapest one in your den, it could be a shaving brush, a lather bowl, a shaving soap, stick or cream, an aftershave lotion, splash or balm. It is not mandatory to have all gear in a pic that is cheap, this allows everyone to take part in the activity. The cheapest item in your den qualifies regardless of he cost so eve a Muhle zamak or merkur zamak razor bought used etc would be great.

3. Whichever is the Frugal item in the SOTD, please add a price tag to that particular item. If you add a reason as to why you have that item in your den or still favor it, would make for an interesting read but it isn't mandatory. Trivia and history etc are always welcome as they add great depth to any activity.

4. The Frugal item can be featured multiple times and it isn't necessary to feature a new item with every new upload or post.

5. Try and get one SOTD up every two days at least if you can't put up one everyday.

Let's get this party started ya all and looking forward to a month of Frugal shaving.

I'm kicking this off with the first one - 1 FEBRUARY Frugal Shave

Razor - Gillette 7 O Clock Sterling DE - 0.85 USD
Shaving Brush - Gillette Synthetic - 0.85 USD
Shaving Cream - Gillette Regular 30 g - 0.50 USD
After Shave Splash - Gillette Artic Ice 50 ml - 3.20 USD

I got the Razor, Shaving Brush and Aftershave when I was in Mumbai last December. The shaving cream was purchased in Singapore. I have always been a fan of the Gillette Cool wave aftershave having used it in college days. Was a throwback for me picking up the shaving cream and the brush as I had similar gear when I started wet shaving. My razor back then was a Gillette Mach 3 and I'm glad i did not revive that one here.

I'll join in and have a few posts a week. Maybe not everyday but, definitely every other day and at most every two days for the Frugal February event if, you'll have me. Great event. (y)

Cheap works.

I'm going to join in on this challenge as my normal shaving routine is quite budget friendly. I will try and make a post every few days as I do not shave daily.

I began traditional wet shaving about 3 years ago and I went with Pinaud Clubman for everything because my father was a barber and the various aftershave scents was all I knew.

Razor...Clubman Master Barber DE Razor $14.99
Razor Blade...Astra Green Blade. $0.22
Shave Soap... Clubman Shave Cream $8.99
Brush... Clubman 23mm Synthetic Shave Brush $17.99
After Shave... Clubman Special Reserve After Shave Cologne $8.99
There was no need to use the vintage English Leather Cologne to compliment the leather forward after shave. It carries a long while!
