Brasso works well if you can handle the fumes.
However,
Wrights Copper Cream for a water-based, less odorous alternative that also provides an anti-tarnish coating.
Option #2.
Those options will remove patina, but actually preventing it in the first place is a more challenging task. Renaissance Wax is you best option; it will work if re-applied reasonably frequently (depending on use).
