I did something stupid: double blades in an adjustable razor

Got a tuck of Wilkinson blades and tried one in my Futur razor and really liked it. Threw one in my vintage Fatboy, wondering how it would do. Got a rough but very smooth shave on 6, adjusted down to a 5 and was smoother but not as close. Two more tries and it was time to swap blades.

Opened up the Fatboy, removed the Wilkinson, and I has a treet underneath it. How I managed to not notice I already had a blade in the damn razor when I put in the second one, I have NO idea.

i’m honestly surprised that I got an average shave instead of chewing up my face.

I know some people will cut a used blade as a shim to adjust angle, but is this double-stacking (not sure if it has an actual name) a thing? Or did I just get lucky I don’t look like a horror movie victim?

Some double stack to change the gap and blade exposure. Sounds like you made it out okay.

Never in my years of shaving used a Shim.

Have tossed many Blade Mid because they were Bad Blades.
