Great looking piece.Currently awaiting a La Faulx S/S machine finish with the ++ plate for my 70th next month. I’m finding the AC RAD is very addictive and “believe” I may end up using oneexclusively
, but with RAD who knows, as I’m led to believe there’s no cure?

I believed/ thought after my 1st shave it was smoother, I have now had 10 + shaves with different soaps and firmly believe it is definitely smoother than the S/S version and also more efficient. Augustin at AD may (obviously) knows more than me on this fine piece, or another user of both may comment.Great looking razor, let us know how it cuts.
Unboxed on board the Carnival Encounter with my family for my 70th birthday. Wow this is the machine finish, I have “polished” razors that don’t meet this quality, rapt nah over the, will post my birthday shave, thoughts etc, View attachment 1233cheers, LesView attachment 1234

Mate info only the LE is polished and sand blasted BronzeCongrats on the acquisition on both alloys. The Brass with the wood handle is truly marvelous to look at. I truly believe there is no finer SE made in terms of aesthetics and its purpose in providing exquisitely smooth shaves. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and have zero regrets in ownership of this fine piece of kit. On the pricey side? Absolutely however, in my eyes completely worth it and an astounding functional work of art. Got in a fabulous shave with it this morning with the “+” plate & Feather Pro. Simply superb from start to finish. Considering one in either Titanium or Copper.
Enjoy the shaves with both wonderful looking kits.

Mate, I won’t dispute a word you’ve saidA good start on a Lovely Sunday morning. The “+” plate with a Feather Pro is my preferred set up on this razor. Tackles daily shaves with supreme ease while being uber docile on the skin. It will take on multiple days growth with relative ease as well for me as I don’t have a super dense or coarse hair growth. However, it grows back rather quickly into thin and wiry lengths and have used it with 3-4 days worth of stubble. it will tackle those multiple days but, requires just a bit more work to get the job done, mostly an extra buffing pass. I do have the “++” plate and that plate does significantly up the cutting ability without sacrificing the smoothness and docile nature of the La Faulx. I do at times throw in a Feather Pro Super from time to time when I want a no holds barred finish in either “+” or “++” plates with excellent results as well. Ups the aggression slightly with noticeable blade feel but, is still easy to use with just a heightened act of knowing it will leave a mark or draw the red liquid if one becomes lax during the shave. Not at all intimidating by any stretch but, it lets you know exactly what it’s doing and rewards with superb results every single time. In fact and in my experience, the Feather Pro Super in the classic plate is a wonderful combination of smooth, docile, ease of use and daily near mindless shaves that performs second to none if comfort is the priority in the shave.
In the end, Atelier Durdan has created a masterpiece in shave art, form & function. If one is to have one SE to be the ONE & ONLY AC format razor in their collection and/or arguably their best razor period regardless of blade format, I would wholeheartedly advise one to save up and simply acquire the La Faulx without an ounce of hesitation. Perfection is a tough word to yield in the wet shave universe as shaving is completely subjective from one person to another however, I can say with conviction & certainty that the La Faulx in my hands is the closest PERFECT razor that I have experienced in the wet shave hobby.
