Hi Friends,

many of us know Saponificio Varesino. For some of the „newer“ guys who aren ´t familiar with this artisan i would like to give you a quick overview and introduction.

This thread can be used to share your experience about this (for me personally) wonderful soap. Let´s dive deep down.

Founded in 1945 by Dante Bardelli in Brebbia, Italy, near Lake Maggiore
, Saponificio Varesino is a historic manufacturer specializing in high-quality, artisan soaps using traditional methods. Emerging post-WWII, the company is renowned for its Marseille-style, triple-milled, palm-oil-free shaving soaps and, today, is managed by the fourth generation, continuing to blend traditional techniques with sustainable, natural ingredients.

My very first soap from SV years ago has been the „Felce Aromatica“. A wonderful, relaxing and fresh scent which i adore since my first use. I will always have a puck of this scent on my den. The soap does not need a whole lot of water to give a stunning performance.
Lather is created within short time and in outstanding quality. I would rate glide and cushion as one of the top tier soaps out there. Additionally i have the 70th Anniversary and Stella Alpina in my den.
Some of you might think that the soaps are overpriced, but you will be rewarded with great shaves and skincare. ALWAYS. Due to the fact that these soaps are triple-milled they last nearly forever and you do not need very much product to get tons of lather. It is not a rock hard soap, so for you guys who are bowl-lathering it is relatively easy to scoop a tiny bit out to mash it in a bowl. Lathering directly on the soap is a pleasure as well.
Let´s have some fun here and the ones of you who are an SV fan just like me, let us know what you think.

Saponificio Varesino is one of my favorites. It always produces a rich, creamy lather. The scent of the aftershaves is unmatched, IMHO.

I only have the Felce soap, but it is excellent performance wise and a fine fougere scent..:)

With all being subjective my favourite is Tundra Artica, I only face lather and when I use my Iwasaki Kamisori, I want slickness, I also find that slickness in vintage Old Spice, 🤔 go figure?

I have 2 different Cosmo, Desert Vetiver and a 70th. All are amazing soaps. If you don't have SV in your den, YOU NEED IT.

Are these soaps tallow based?
