I have to try the distilled water thing. I don’t have very hard water but I would like to see the difference. So I bought this little Spray Bottle at Wal-Mart, holds 2Oz., Distilled Water. Two short in to Soap, damp Brush and I am making Crazy Good LATHER.

I figured. I think I should see some improvementMy tap water is very hard.
Glint, I remember 10 years back, the uberlather concept. Basically a soap + cream AND a glycerin+lanolin bump for the load. I did this for poor performing soaps. I also went nuts and for some of the companies who offered pux and creams in the same scent [Tabac, DRH Arlington, DRH Sandalwood, Proraso etc] i loaded their cream and soap with the glycerin/lanolin bump. I will say, had some bountiful shaves. I occassionally do this for a few vintage pux that don't make good lathers by using an unscented cream [Truefitt & Hill Unscented cream]. My lathering/loading skill has improved obviating this process but for the ole brit hard pux that removed tallow.... This "uberlather" is quite effective.I tried the super lather method a while back. Awesome and thick lather but messy as all heck. Once was enough for a test...
Merkurman loading technique is one of the few shaving youtube videos I saved years back. It works fo'sho. In fact, my approach is about the same except I don't leave the faucet Rimini, I dip the tips in a 2mm deep porcelain dish/plate and do the paint brush circular lather build on the face. This routine really lifted my shaving expertise. The only pucks I had trouble with after adopting this was Mystic Waters and MWF.I like the super shiny lather method. What I like to call "super goop"

Just loaded the brush like you really hate the bastard soap, by tipping your brush a bit of water as you go along. You don’t need a distilled water piss spray bottle.![]()
