Hi all,
First Shave of 2026 why not start the year with my fav of the Gillette flair tips being the British rocket red tip this example was restored by Back Roads Gold in 2023.
I have used or owned all of the flair tips and "in my opinion" the rocket red has the edge over the super speed red tip in efficiency.
The rocket red is a hansom safety razor that feels great in the hand with great grip and balance all in all I rate it as one of the best post 1940s Gillette TTO's razors.

I matched it with a Voskhod blade for this shave because of its sharp smooth manners. (I know this blade has had some bad press over the years but that has never
been my experiences like all modern blades they don't suit every DE razor you need to pick the right blade and this only comes from trial and error or advice).

The butterfly Garden Limonella was gifted to me by a good friend the scent is amazing the blend of Kaffir lime and Italian lime gives a zesty aftershave feel.

Finished off nicely with classic Cella Splash a great aftershave at a reasonable price.

1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG no touch-ups.
No nicks No worries.....

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap was face-lathered well with Jayaruh #119 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette NEW Short Comb Razor and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Aqua Velva Musk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Happy Healthy New Year to fellow Shave & Chat members,
As this is my first shave of 2026 I have to give credit to Stirling Soap Company’s Rod and Mandy. They are awesome people and a great small business. Prior to last March I had never used “Artisan Shave Soap” even though I had been shaving for many decades. Stirling shave soap actually changed something from a chore to something I now truly cherish. I enjoy the quiet of the “me time” during my shaves. I have a nice little collection of razors both modern and vintage and a fair assortment of different Artisan shave soaps.
I truly enjoy reading informative posts here and seeing pictures of products I would like to try.

Happy New Year!!! For the first shave of the year I went with the Smart-Helix Apollo Light and with the newest Ariana & Evans and The Razor Company Collab Auld Lang Syne!

This is my first shave with the Apollo Light I had picked it up a few months back and never got to it. I heard great things and they were all spot on. What a great shave. I went with the mild plate and got a surprisingly close and efficient shave. I’ll try the aggressive plate next.

A&E and TRC have done it again. Auld Lang Syne is absolutely fantastic. Fruity, creamy, effervescent! And Ultima-2 base is omg amazing! Thick, rich lather. Tons of it with slickness for days. The residual slickness is insane on this. This scent may end up being my favorite of the year. Well done!
