One more evening shave for the books.
Pre-shave: Hot shower
Soap & Splash: Los Jabones de Joserra Fern Noir
Razor: DS Cosmetics X1 SS316 Dual Comb
Blade: Personna Comfort Coated (3rd use)
Brush: CF Shaves Helix, synthetic knot
The Shave:
The X1 once again gives a wonderful shave. I used the open comb for the WTG and XTG passes to handle the growth, then flipped to the closed comb for the ATG cleanup. It worked wonders with zero irritation, even with a sharp blade like the Personna on its third outing.
Soap & ASL Impressions:
The Scent: This is a "dark forest" masterpiece. It starts with that classic, clean, soapy English Fern vibe, but quickly dives into the shadows. The Madagascar Vetiver and Cypress in the base give it a damp, earthy, and slightly smoky character that feels perfect for an evening shave. It’s sophisticated but "moody."
Soap Performance: Typical Joserra excellence. The lather is dense, yogurt-like, and incredibly slick. It provided a great protective buffer for the open comb side of the X1.
The Splash: The ASL really punches up the "Noir" elements. It has a nice, refined sting and leaves the skin feeling supple—not dry. The scent lingers just long enough to enjoy that smoky vetiver as I wind down for the night.
