Great setup this morning. VR1 is still a great base and this scent is really nice. I’m glad I was able to get a couple father and son edition TanZ brushes over the years. Hi all,
I had a lovely shave this afternoon with the TGS Synthesis SS DE I always get a good shave out of this razor as long as I use a suitable blade. For me the feather works well some blades don’t work in this razor.
Which I guess is down to it’s 0.62mm blade gap
And 0.02mm exposure.
All in all, it’s a very well-made razor with everything in the right place.

The Jack Jarvis Thai ginger zest soap has a wonderful scent that actually filled my bathroom with a beautiful fresh fragrance of spicy ginger and I think cinnamon but I’m no soap guru.

The Cella aftershave splash is classic scent that reminds you of an old barbershop the way they used to be.

1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG with a few touch-ups.
No nicks no worries Done.

here my Shave of the Day (21.01.2026)

Razor: RazoRock Gamechanger .84 // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Soap Commander Fortitude // Brush: Yaqi Moka // Aftershave: Alum - Nivea Balm

A shave which was a little „weird.

The soap, lathered up in my Captains Choice Copper Bowl was fantastic as always. You can NEVER go wrong using Soap Commander. Such a wonderful base. Easy to lather, outstanding glide and cushion. I adore Soap Commander 🥰 Tons of lather in my bowl and the other tons were in this great brush..this handle and the knot are SO good. Cloud-like tips and just the right amount of backbone for me.

The shave itself was smooth, gentle and thoroughly but at the end I had a few blood spots on the neck😳 No idea where these came from…

Maybe the blade was done or my skin was a bit irritated. Nevertheless 2,5 great passes.

Because of these tiny blood spots I’ve used my Alum Block followed by Nivea Balm to get a smooth and calming ending of the shave.

9 out of 10
