Happy shaving - Karl

Sunday morning shave with the Shield Slant DE Titanium, a Treet Carbon Steel blade on its first—and last—use, BBS Armageddon shaving soap and ASL, and the “beast” Boti 40mm Silvertip.

A very good shave from the Shield, with an excellent feel on my face and a superb result with zero irritation.

As for the Boti, I honestly think it’s a bit over the top. It would probably be better suited for head shaving, because once that 40mm knot splays open, it’s simply enormous… 😄

Wicked Wednesday Garden of Venom
Leaf Thorn
Brush by Grizzly Bay

(Will be uploading a YouTube video review to my channel, “The Luxury Shaving Hobbyist” in the next day or two)

From the Wicked Wednesday website:

Garden of Venom is a living, breathing green scent—fresh, sharp, and just a little dangerous. It opens with a cool burst of fresh mint and airy green tea, then pulls you deeper into crushed tomato leaf, wild herbs, and creeping poison ivy, like stepping into a humid garden you shouldn’t be wandering through. As it settles, earthy vetiver and hazy patchouli rise up with a smooth touch of musk, grounding the brightness in something darker and more seductive. It’s clean but untamed… lush, dewy, and quietly toxic in the best way.

Monday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
WSP Formula T Pumpkin Pie Shave Soap
Jayaruh #1 Badger
Joseph Elliot Wedge 6/8
Drygulch 3 Inch Strop
Aqua Velva After Shave

I am continuing the same setup this week but changing the razor. It has been a while since I have done a straight razor shave. I decided that this week I would do six days with my Joseph Elliot Wedge 6/8. It is one of my favorites. I will be preparing the blade for the shaves by stropping with my 3 Inch Drygulch Strop.

The WSP Formula T Pumpkin Pie Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Joseph Elliot Wedge 6/8 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

18 months ago this week I used my first Artisan Shave soap. It was Stirling Soap Company Sandalwood, I did not care for the scent and have given the soap away. However, I was completely hooked on the thick rich protective lather. It was unlike anything I had used in almost 50 years of wet shaving. Stirling came out with a limited release called Arance Mandarini, to this day it is my absolute favorite scent profile. I still use Stirling soaps regularly, they are by far the best value I have found in shave soaps.

Proraso pre-shave, Stirling Soap Company Arance Mandarini soap, Omega EVO, Timeless Razors Ti .68 OC/SB combo, Tatra platinum, Omega alum, Thayers Toner, Stirling Arance balm and EDP. Shaves like this make the expenses all worth while.
