I wanted to do a side by side comparison of the New Deluxe I recently acquired and a New. I haven’t shaved in 2 days so I’d have some extra beard to work with. I chose the New razor with the short comb as it appears to be closest to the New Deluxe. I’m using a fresh Gillette Nacet blade in both razors.
I had a BBS shave in 2 passes with both razors. Very nice. At first they both appeared to be very equal on both passes. The real story was with the alum at the end. The New Deluxe had some feedback from the alum and the New did not. I really expected both razors to give the same shave. For me the winner was the New. Although I wouldn’t pass on the New Deluxe at all. Still a fabulous razor, IMHO.
