Saturday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
WSP Formula T Pumpkin Pie Shave Soap
Jayaruh #1 Badger
'47 Gillette Aristocrat
Gillette Silver Blue Blade
Aqua Velva After Shave

The WSP Formula T Pumpkin Pie Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the '47 Gillette Aristocrat Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
The grain on the Jayaruh #1 is so beautifull!

Razor: Vintage Gillette - 1933 New Long-Comb DE Safety Razor - Made in U.S.A..
Blade: Shark Platinum - Double Edge Blades
Bowl: Lathered in AliExpress - Chinese Made - Navy Ceramic Lathering Bowl.
Soap/Cream: Strike Gold Shaving Soap - George Washington - Made in U.S.A.
Brush/Instrument: Omega 10019 Boar Brush - AKA My Old Reliable.
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel.
Shave Rating: DAM FINE SHAVE, as Close to BBS as you could want.

Comments: Using my Vintage Gillette - 1933 New Long-Comb DE Safety, with a Shark Platinum - Double Edge Blades. I really really really like this Razor & Blade combo, efficient, sharp, Shark has fair blade life like 3-4 Shaves, and no problems. Almost prefect, but noting is perfect. Plus the Razor is not too heavy so you get a great Shave with it, without having to constantly adjust for the weight.

Today was normal routine, Three Pass Shave, better than NORMAL DFS results, close as could be to a BBS but not BBS. TECHNIQUE IS KEY, Razor, Blade, Great Brush, Strike Gold Shaving Soap - George Washington, THREE DIRECTIONS, yields a DFS.

My Soap was Strike Gold Shaving - George Washington, it was a Sample I got at Arizona Wet Shave Meetup this past February at Razor Emporium Shop the Meetup venue. Love it because you use so little, it is easy to Lather, and it leaves my Face in wonderful condition post Shave. Honestly I use a Baskin Robbins - 31 Flavors, FREE TASTE Spoon. Use like a Level Spoon of this Soap scooped into my Shave Bowl, Damp Brush, and about a Full Teaspoon H2O applied by atomizer. THICK CREAM LATHER is end results. Product is super easy to work with even a Caveman could do it. This Soap does the three things well, Soaps need to do, Wet & Soften Beard, Provide Slick Shave Surface, and last leave Skin nice post Shave.

Think the trick to making monster Lather is adding water a little at time, and work your Brush to build THICK WET Lather. The Brush is an Omega 10019 Boar, that works well, makes Lather fast, has some backbone for scrubbing, cleans up easy as 1, 2, 3, and dries very fast. **Previously have been using a PAA Moon Stryker Systemic 24mm Brush, this Omega is tiny in comparison, but still makes Lather well just a tad slower.

Still using New AliExpress - Chinese Made - Navy Ceramic Lathering Bowl works some much better then the Plastic AliExpress Lathering Bowl with Flower Pattern, this New Lather Bowl was under $7.00, snd I would call it a Best Buy. It sort of poor mans copy of a Captain’s Choice - Ceramic Lather Bowl.

This Razor, Blade combo works better than great, for a 93 Year Old Vintage. Correct me if you disagree BUT IMHO IT ALL ABOUT Technique, Technique, Technique, is more important than SHAVING TOOLS. Never ever will chase BBS, Skin problems, why do I need too? DFS is good enough for me, this Non Tallow Based Soap provided some extra slick to my shave, over all results were DFS.+++.

I completely agree about not chasing BBS at any cost. As someone who shaves daily, I would much rather finish with a comfortable, irritation-free DFS and have my skin ready for the next shave than force a few extra passes just to remove the final traces of stubble.

I shave daily also, need no more dermatology problems.🎯💡
