That’s a fair point, and I understand what you mean.
Personally, I would love to see the forum grow. A stronger member base means more shave reports, more gear impressions, more comparisons, more photos, more discussion, and generally more life in the place. I’m definitely not against quantity — quite the opposite, as anyone who has seen the YouTube indexing and links projects will probably know!
For me the ideal is not “small but quiet” or “large but messy.” It is quantity with quality: more members, more useful posts, more shared knowledge, and still keeping the forum clean, friendly, and easy to use.
The fact that some larger places have become difficult to browse or overloaded with distractions is actually an opportunity for us. If we can keep this forum simple, usable, and welcoming while also adding more content and activity, then growth will come naturally.
So yes, I agree that it would be nice to see more people here. The best way forward is probably for all of us to keep posting useful content, sharing the forum where appropriate, and making new members feel that this is a place worth staying.

It’s regular members like yourself that help create more interest as well as your content. Some people have busy lives outside of the forum. Others do not.
Also forums these days have so much to compete with there are so many other types of platforms to get your point or message across there hey day may be behind them.

Well I am surprise many who are on BNB, have not come over to this forum, BNB is doing so many time out because of HEAVY ADVERTISING Popup, nd advertising video's beyond owners control.
I think Glint summed up the most important point very clearly: ShaveChat will not become a place full of intrusive ads, popups, videos, and distractions.
That matters a lot. A forum should be easy to read, easy to browse, and pleasant to participate in. When the browsing experience becomes frustrating, people eventually stop enjoying the conversation, no matter how large the forum is.
The important part is that growth should not come at the cost of usability or atmosphere. If people are looking for a clean, friendly, easy-to-use shaving forum, then this place already has a very strong foundation. Hopefully more wet shavers will discover it, join in, and help build it further.

Unless the user is prepared to pay a subscription fee every year to support B&B, they won’t have any ads or pop up garbage.
I would ask you all brothers to encourage others to join and make it a bit more lively. It's 6 months in now, and we need to start getting some momentum. We are different to the other places - no ads, not loads of shite email, and no popups. Ever. Couple that with light and sensible moderation - what's not to like?
With a the POP UP BULLSH**, on B n BI would have assumed we would be at 1,500++++Members.
