I'm going to 3017 my way through a handful of samples that I have and then try to tackle a tub of Soap Commander that has about 2 ounces of soap left in.

This was a one and done sample that sadly had lost all of its fragrance because it has been sitting around for far too long.

Razor: 1921 Gillette New Improved
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Stainless "The Spoiler"
Brush: Yaqi Caramel Cats Whiskers
Soap: A&E Which Ones Pink
AS: Stirling Kaboom

3017ing this sample of A&E Which Ones Pink. I will probably get 4 or 5 shaves out of this sample, depending on how generous my scoops are.

I'm also going all in on the vintage razors this week and even decided to go with a vintage blade. This first blade I pushed out of the dispenser looked like it had been used and had some rust along the edge. So I decided to pop open the dispenser and the next two blades also had rust and wear on them. The last blade in the dispenser looked good though so I loaded it up and away we went.

The Gillette New Improved is vastly more aggressive then modern razor I used my last two shaves. Feeling the blade on my skin quickly told me that I needed to pay attention.

Two passes and I'm smooth and relaxed and ready for bed. Have a good night everyone.

Had a hankerin' for some earthy vetiver.
The MdC fit the bill and the Roja was the icing in the cake.​

Razor: Gillette Aristocrat #66
Blade: Gillette Super Stainless "The Spoiler" (2)
Brush: Grizzly Bay Wraith
Soap: A&E Which Ones Pink
AS: A&E Grecian Horse

Scooped about half a teaspoon of soap and pressed it into the bottom of a nubby collapsible silicone lather bowl. The bowl was absolutely full to the brim of lather, I serious had enough lather for 5 passes easily. I did my normal two passes shave and started to clean up and was surprised to find a good amount of soap still stuck to the bottom of the bowl. So I lathered it again and again got a bowl full of lather. Rinsed it out again and yes there was still soap in the bottom of the bowl, enough to build a third bowl of lather. I might do what Joseph @primotenore does and transfer the remainder of the sample to my stainless bowl and load from there. I really don't want to extend the life of this sample though, but I also don't want bits of soap staying stuck to the bottom of my lather bowls either. Oh well, first world problems.

I have nothing but respect for an artisan, who doesn't constantly re-think his product.
Mike has been around and while he may move across the country, his soap remains the same.

I put the sample in my stainless steel bowl for loading purposes. Maybe 3 more shaves and it will be done.

These nubby silicone bowls really whip up a lather in no time.

The Epsilon White Horse brush dug into the sample of Which Ones Pink quite nicely. I now believe that it will be eliminated on the next shave.

This is my second variation of the Cooper MonoBilt. Notice the different knurling pattern on the handle. While both are quite hard to come by I think this is the rarer of the two.

I absolutely love vintage blade dispensers . Although you can still get this Personna blades today in the same dispenser there is something cool about seeing the branding from a grocery store that sold these blades in the 1970s-1990's. And even though these blades are probably 40-50 years old they still shave like champ.

The A&E sample is done and dusted.

The Italian Valobra lathered well. The 5x Personna 74 was sharp 'n smooth; the vintage YSL Kouros completed a great shave.​
