Today I went to another of my top artisans with BBS Soaps and to the Apollo Light again.
This is my second shave in a row with the Apollo Light. Owning enough razors for us all I try and not use the same razor twice in a row but am evaluating this razor and whether to move it out of the den. Today’s shave was a stunner. I went with the mild plate again with only a days growth but switched blades to the Wizamet. Both shaves were amazing but the Wizamet performed slightly better for me. I have really enjoyed this razor so far.
BBS Soaps is one of my top artisans and not being able to get their new releases due to tariffs hurt a lot. So when I could get some I had Thanos send out a few sets to me, this was before TRC restocked, Donna being one. She is incredible. Sweet, warm and enveloping it is inspired by Toscana’s Bianco Latte. Wow if you’re a gourmand guy this is for you! And the Cronos 2.1 tallow base is hard to beat. Thick, rich lather with slickness for three shaves! Amazing stuff!
What an awesome shave! I hope you all have a great weekend and amazing shaves!

Razor: Maxwell June EX // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: MdC Original // Brush: Mühle SFT 23mm // Aftershave: Nivea Hydro Care Balm
Hello friends,
First of all, happy new year to you all
Today marks the first shave of the still young new year.
I chose the above-mentioned products. As it turned out, this was a more than good decision.
The scent of the soap brings you straight to Provence in France. It's a very relaxing scent that invites you to unwind and relax.
The Mühle SFT had no trouble whipping up a creamy, thick lather. The glide and skin care were once again sensational.
So, once the soap was on my face, the Maxwell June could begin its work. Together with the Gillette Platinum, we got started.
The Maxwell June worked very gently and thoroughly. However, the blade has a different sound than the GBE. The GBE sounded more "ceramic," while the Platinum sounded brighter and not as "heavy." This blade worked very well in the razor. Smooth, gentle and thoroughly.
Nevertheless, after 2.5 extremely enjoyable passes, there was nothing left. BBS at its finest.
I'm not actually a Nivea fan, but I can't find anything negative to say about this one. It has a sporty, fresh scent, a good consistency, and absorbs immediately without leaving a sticky film on the skin.
The aloe vera it contains provides excellent after-shave care. For me, it's an absolutely top product.
10 out of 10
Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and stay safe and healthy.
Greetings
Thorsten
