The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #292 HMW Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher razor and the Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Soap and AS: Stirling 2019 Dirty South Shavers LE

First shave with the Next Level. First off, I did not like the handle that it came with. I'm not a fan of long handles nor did I find it particular aesthetically pleasing. So I switched it out with the classic RazoRock barber pole handle.

Made a beautiful Stirling lather and went to work. Italian Barber lists the 85 as a medium aggression razor, I found it to be quite a mild razor with minimal blade feel. Others have mentioned a rather narrow window of operating angles that will allow the razor to cut, and I did find that to be true also, but I didn't have any trouble holding the angle once I found it. I did my normal two passes and walked away smooth without a hint if irritation. And proof of that was no sting from the AS.

I will say that while I think this is a great razor I think that the Recurve is the better design. I really appreciate the super thin head of the Recurve. And I think that the Recurve might be a touch more efficient with the same total lack of blade feel

Razor: Pearl Flexi // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum // Brush: Jannick WH Deep Red Dream // Aftershave: Sebamed Balm

Long time no use of my Pearl Flexi. In combo with the Gillette Platinum on setting 3 it delivered a very smooth, gentle and efficient shave in 2 passes. The soap with it´s wonderful scent, glide and cushion did it´s part to this great shave. Used my Sebamed balm to close out the shave.

10 out of 10

Pre-shave; Warm shower, face rinse with MWF bar soap.
Brush; AP Shave Co, Etched Series ‘’Sea Voyager’’, Red resin handle and a 24mm AP Luxury bulb knot of mixed hair, 70% 2 band Finest Badger & 30% Pure Boar. Looks great with the Old Spice set!!
Soap; Old Spice, soap puck 3.75oz (1965-75) in a late 02 milk-glass mug ‘’Grand Turk’’ (1964-78)
Razor; Carbon, CX-Graphite (Ti), with an Original (0.68) webbed base plate. From Sean @ Carbon Razors, the razor is from 1 of 2 ‘’Small Batch’’ runs of approx 30 razors in total produced.
Blade; Gillette, Red & White (Aussie Spoiler)
Post-shave; Shulton, Old Spice Original, milk-glass bottle, 6.37oz/180mls (Bottle style 1996)
Cologne/EDP;
Moisturiser;
Attar (Perfume Oil);
Shave; Vintage Old Spice and a top class razor (IMHO). A fine 2 pass n touch up BBS.
I can/could see this being my daily set-up, keeping just 1 DE & 1 SE (selling the rest?) and my Iwasaki ‘’Kami” for Saturday’s shave, mmh will I. :unsure:

No,I don't have the case..although I did pass on a rough case for $70 on Ebay some time back.I rarely look for cases any more as they can be pricey..95% of my razors I bought with their cases intact from Gillette collectors,I scored the Executive from a friend,case long destroyed..I love my !st gen Brit Aristocrat.. :) :cool:
