Brush: Trotter Handcrafts, SNØ, Muhle STF ++
Software: Barrister and Mann Promises
Razor: Urkunet Assassin 1.5
Blade: Tatra Platinum (1)

What an impressive first shave with my new Urkunet razor. A new razor company launched by Oumo. I had heard too many good things from a number of good people whose opinions alI find meaningful about this new razor. I opted for the satin finish, which is what I prefer and I went with the Xuanyuan handle as it’s my favorite looking of the three options. The build quality, machining, and tolerances seem very impressive.

As for the shave, the blade gaps seemed daunting on paper. The mildest version, which I have with a 1.5mm blade gap is the largest of any razor I own. It certainly doesn’t feel overly aggressive though and I believe this is because the blade clamping is so very solid and the blade exposure is not over the top. Initial impressions are very positive for me. An incredibly smooth but very efficient shave. I’m really looking forward to using this razor more. I believe Urkunet (Oumo) has a winner here. Take care folks.IMG_1641.jpg

Thursday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Proraso White Shave Cream
Jayaruh #144 Finest Badger
Schick J3 Golden 500
Schick Super Krona
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave

The Proraso White Shave Cream was face-lathered well with Jayaruh #144 Finest Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick J3 Golden 500 razor and the Schick Super Krona Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
